What Happened

The Proud American

The Proud American

Greetings to all of my followers and readers.

It has been since March of this year since I have last posted on my blog page.  For this I am sorry.  I know how much you all enjoy reading about Pig’s adventures and such.  There have been some personal issues I have had to deal with at home.  But there also have been some other issues I am still dealing within our society, our current political climate and how people view life in today’s world.

I respect the fact that each and every person in this country has the God given right to their own opinion.  I also believe that each person has the right to express their own opinion.  What I don’t believe in is when a person thinks they have the right to intrude their over someone else’s rights.  To force someone to give up any freedom to accommodate others is wrong.

I believe our founding fathers of this great nation did the job right in setting up the rule book of how this country should be run.  I do believe that all men are truly created equal.  I believe in the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence.

I also believe that we, the people of this great nation, have lost our pride as Americans.  It is almost as though to be an American is considered to be dirty or no good or rotten.  We don’t puff up our chests and cheer for the USA anymore.

What happened to us?

Why did this happen?

Do you feel the same way too?

I’m not ashamed of America but it sure feels like I’m being told I should be.  Have you felt that way too?

How do we get our sense of pride back?

How do we become that great nation that stood for so much once again?

I see everyone’s opinions on Facebook, twitter, in the news and in talk on the street but I don’t see anyone doing anything about it. Why is that?

Are we living in fear of reprisal from our government, lawsuits, backlash of public opinion?  I know that I fear none of the above.

I was taught and raised with respect. I was taught to show respect and I was taught to have manners towards people.

But I was also taught to stand up for myself too.  Back in my day if you had a problem with a bully at school you didn’t run and cry to the teacher.  Oh No, we were taught you catch ahold of that S.S.O.B. upside the head when he isn’t looking then pounce on him and beat the crap out of him.  If that bully was smart, he didn’t get back up nor did he mess with you or anyone else ever again. You just let him know you were not going to take it from him anymore.

I know that I am old school and to the younger generations that may not be cool. But when something is not working right it has to be fixed properly.  One technique I was taught and that I use quite often is to find the solution you need to go back to the beginning and start over.

I think that is what we need to do here in this country.  I think we, as a nation, forgot what it means to be an American and that we have lost our pride and our drive.  And we need to get it back.

When was the last time you read the three most important documents an American needs to know?  You know what ones I’m talking about.  I’m talking about the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the U.S. Constitution. I bet it hasn’t been since high school if not earlier than that for most of us.  If you haven’t read them, you need to.  They tell you what being an American is all about.  They will restore your pride.  They will give you something to believe in again.  Most importantly, those three documents will show you what is wrong with this country today.

Do yourself a favor, and one for your country.  Take the time to read them.  Study them.  Know them.  I’m even leaving you a link to them.  And then pass it on to your family because they need to know them too.

May God Bless the USA!  Hey guess what?  I’m back
